skinner

The small game carbine comes with the skinner peep sight,I have been thinking about getting one I do not want a scope.
Any thoughts on this.I know you can install skinners on the cheaper H1 carbine but living in an apartment without tools will not work.

The SGC is just fantastic, to which many others here will attest. It was my second Henry, my first Henry 22LR, and I can't imagine anything better. Rear peep sight, large loop lever and the legendary, smooth action is the right combination.
Proceed with confidence!

There are a number of Forum threads about the SGC, Teddy. I have an SGC in .22LR, and have mainly posted in the Range Reports. It's a great shooting rifle, and the Skinner receiver-mounted peep is excellent. Sir Henry, Esquared, and others have written about their SGC rifles. I also know BigAl has posted. He really likes his SGC, as I do.

Here are some posts:

And some photos I took of my SGC after I special-ordered a bronze replacement peep for my SGC. For me, it really adds a lot to my Henry.

The SGC is a great Carbine! I wouldn't hesitate recommending that you add one to your gun cabinet. Definitely go for it!

Did you get one yet Teddy? I bought a SGC as my first Henry, and shortly after went out a and bought my “BGC” or Big Boy Steel Carbine as Henry calls it in .357 magnum. I put Skinner’s Express rear sight and patridge front sight on it. It’s as accurate and fun a rifle as the SGC is. I shoot CCI .22 shorts mostly out of the little one, and it’s virtually silent. Holds 17 of them to, so you can reload on Sunday and shoot all 17 in a row. (Some of you thought THAT was headed elsewhere, didn’t ya?!)

I like that th SGC comes with the Skinner on the receiver, not the barrel.

I have a receiver mount Skinner on a 1895CB and a barrel mount on a 1952 Winchester 74 and like them both a lot
