Hey Evan - got your PM - looks like 250g 45Colt shoots higher out of a Henry BigBoy than 240g 44Mag at 25-30 yds. If I am reading your target correctly it looks like you are shooting about 3.5" high at 30yds. If your goal is to zero at 100 yds with that load you may have to actually shoot it at 100yds to see what you have. If you want to zero it in at 25 or 50 yds you will probably have to go with a taller front sight, which would be .584" if you want stick with a Lyman Globe. I know that most hunters usually try to sight in for 1" high at 50 yds with 44Mag - I'm not sure about 45 Colt. It's a slower, heavier bullet so it may be much higher than 1" at 50 yds. I just went thru a similar experience while sighting in a Henry 357Mag Carbine - ended up putting on a Low-Pro rear sight instead of the original Skinner Express to get the rifle to sight in at 25yds...

Tad,
I think you're right on about the 100 yd zero. Everything I've read so far says that bullet is still climbing between 30-50 yds (3-4.5inches) and it pretty much zeros out at 100 yds.

Weather permitting, I'll be at an outdoor range tomorrow where I can set up at 100 yds and see what happens. I've also found an insert with a lower "post", so if I set up with the bull right on top of it at 100 yds, it should be close. We'll see!

Thanks for your input!
