Re: WILLIAMS FP 336 vs FP 94-36
The front sight on my '68 RC has a Williams fire site on the ramp. Ramp and all it stands .60 inches tall
2 tenths taller than the ZG.
That's like a 25 MOA difference for the ZG.

I'm not a fan of bead front sights, either. Much prefer a flat blade for accuracy work. On any rifle that I own that has a dovetail fit front sight, it gets a globe sight added, quick. That gives me the option of different blade widths and styles.

Just to hedge my bet I ordered a taller sight from Skinner.

The height of the aperature at it's lowest setting is the same on both.Ojaileveraction wrote:Is the side mounted 94-36 lower than the too mounted 336.
I'd like to use the origanal front sight.

NO, no it doesn't : WILLIAMS FP 336 vs FP 94-36
So the Williams 94/36 receiver sight I bought through Amazon is not lower, or even low as, because it doesn't fit squarely on the receiver, catywonkus is the tech term.
I ordered a fp/tk this looks like a 5d with target knobs added. There is no through hole for an extended elevation screw like most FP models have.

Is this particular model of Marlin drilled and tapped for the 94/36? It most likely should be. Please post a side view pic of the sight on the receiver.because it doesn't fit squarely on the receiver,

because it doesn't fit squarely on the receiver,
Compared to the space on the right side.
The left side of the sight elevator is hitting the edge off the receiver.Compared to the space on the right side.

That is not right! I would call Williams and send
Them this picture. It would be easy to shim it out but it appears to me the mount is a couple thou too thin.

Re: WILLIAMS FP 336 vs FP 94-36
The sight elevator on the 336 model and the 94/36 Williams sights are the same demesions as far as I can measure. They look like the same part.
I put the top mounted 336 model back on and changed out the original front sight with a Skinner I'm going to save the 94/36 Williams for any Winnie 94 that may be in my future.
Buy a rifle for a sight, that's a good reason/excuse.
