Thank you for the comments folks. Looks like I may have to go with just a peep, or just a scope. Or buy the Marlin...and I love my Henry, so that prolly isn’t gonna happen.

as one who all tooooo well understands your age related vision concerns, I'd go with a scope, the biggest question would be what powers .... that said, you most certainly go with whatever best serves your wants/needs .... looking forward to hearing what you decide and following your range and use reports .... please take a look at our How Many ? thread (link below) and add your Henry to our community's total

If you do, I'd be interested in hearing how it turns out for you.

I keep going back and forth on it. Now, I'm thinking about putting the mount and scope set-up on it I have on my .357.
Talley/Weaver 1-3x20mm for 75 yard paper. Steel gongs are fine with irons. First world problems, I suppose.

I had reservations about it at first. Figured for $10 it was no big loss if it didn't work out. So far so good.
I prefer not to move scopes and mounts between firearms. Once I have them dialed in I don't want to mess with them. Afraid I'll never get dialed back as good as it is now.
