Simmons 22 mag scope

Post by Oldbrass » Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:02 pm

I'm wanting to put a new scope on my savage Mark ii bolt action 22lr, it's a left hand model I bought new and on sale 12 years ago for $119 OTD. Great shooter. The current 12 year old $29 scope has outlived it's usefulness. I'm eyeballing the Simmons 22 mag 4X32, anybody here have experience with one good or bad ?

Have had a few of the 22 mag scopes. Pretty good glass and never had any issues except the 3-9x32 AO scopes would change their zero after moving the parallax adjustment. They may have stopped making the AO models but not sure about that. Fixed 4x 22 mag never had an issue.

Agree with bandit here. Have one on a CZ 452 Scout and it's a fine optic. Especially at those older price points. Good scope.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

The Uberti isn't stainless; it's chrome-plated aluminum.

The only stainless .22 I can recall is the Taurus 62LA. I want one.

I would love to see Ruger Make a Stainless Marlin Mountie. They could use their investment casting techniques.
