Where things currently stand in Oregon.

Measure 114 Requires, license and training before one can by a firearm. Bans large capacity magazines.
o Measure going to STATE trial in September.
o Measure going to FEDERAL trial next week.
o OR Senate Bill 348, attempts to bypass Oregon court system by passing measure 114 by legislative action.

HR2005 - Bans ghost guns. Raises minimum age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21. Gives local officials the ability to prohibit conceal carrying in some government buildings.

Both HR2005 and Bill 348 are pending final legislative votes. But voting is currently sidelined do to lack of quorum of Senators. Republican-led walkout in the Oregon Senate.

I believe a court somewhere (Supreme?) just ruled that banning gun sales to 18 year old's was unconstitutional.

Best of luck Mags, love that republican walkout. Here in Washington we are totally screwed. Sure happy I have the guns I do as I don’t know if I will ever buy another with the hoops we will have to jump thru starting Jan 2024. Hopefully I’ll pickup the Henry 30-30 I want before then. Of course my attitude is just what the gun control folks want so I guess I’m capitulating to them. Easy for me as I’m well armed.

Hopefully we're not, but we probably are getting too political here. But if Attorney General Ferguson takes over from Inslee, which seems likely, things won't be changing. He's been the driving force behind the recent new gun laws.

I also have pretty much all the guns I want (need) although I would like to get a nice .45 1911, also a 10-22 although I already have a cheap but very accurate Savage .22 bolt action.

Measure 114 Requires, license and training before one can by a firearm. Bans large capacity magazines.
o Measure going to STATE trial in September.
o Measure going to FEDERAL trial week of June 5th.
o OR Senate Bill 348, attempts to bypass Oregon court system bypassing measure 114 by legislative action.

HR2005 - Bans ghost guns. Raises minimum age to buy a firearm from 18 to 21. Gives local officials the ability to prohibit conceal carrying in some government buildings.

Updates:
AMENDED HR2005 passes OR Senate. Ban on ghost guns part only. As amended the minimum age and concealed carry restrictions were removed from the bill. Amended bill goes back to house where it is expected to pass and then to governors desk.

OR Senate Bill 348 supposedly dead.

Federal trial itself over measure 114, where arguments were heard, is over. But judge has not yet issued a ruling.
State trial still pending for September.

State Trial Date: September 18-25, 2023.
Trial will be restricted to whether law is constitutional, not on how it will work.
To get an idea with how the law might or might not work watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAjF1bOyr88
