Nothing wrong with being a grunt, dad was one also.
Gen. Paton once said he had a lot of respect for the soldier with the Combat Infantry badge, more so than the CMA.
My Dad's his has the Star in the top center, dang collar.

RP, your Dad was a good soldier. WWII & Korea.Thats a heck
of a tour. I have the CIB also & the Purple Heart.
My Dad was in WWII.
If your Dad is still with us, tell him thanks for his service from
an old grunt.
It's a bond like none other.

Just now seeing this thread and see some of you were grunts. My Dad was in the Navy during the second but I was a grunt in the Nam in 66-67-68.
Welcome home brothers! I served with the 173 rd Airborne Brigade and the 82nd Airborne Div. over there. Stationed at FT. Bragg between tours and also a little secret mission in Africa.

We were East Serpent 47.

I’m from Pennsylvania “the keystone state” pretty unoriginal.

I go by “birdsnest” on some fishing forums because that is me with my baitcaster.

In all my time using this handle one one person knew what “Zara Puppy” was (or at least mentioned it). It’s bigger brother “Zara Spook” was given consideration but passed on.

Deadly bait in the shallows where there are tons of larger type rocks covering the bottom.

Lyman is my middle name. I use it on a few different forums.
