.
He's been a good bit active on Facebook. Looks like he got a travel bucket list of places he's been to and still going to.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Well, today's Chiropractic visit explains a lot.

The X-ray shows pretty much zero cartilage between the ball on the top of my femur and the socket, otherwise known as "severe osteoarthritis," which usually translates to hip replacement.

The Chiropractor didn't go so far as to say that, but he also declined to take any more of my money for further treatments until I get a more informed opinion, which I now have set up for next Friday with a highly recommended sports medicine orthopedic surgeon here in KC.

So, instead of heading to deer camp on November 15th, I'll be headed west to the Kansas side of KC for said visit. Would have been hard to imagine me trudging through the woods in the pitch dark, let alone climbing up and down a tree stand. The pain is pretty much constant when I'm doing anything other than sitting (in the right position) or sleeping, and usually on about an 8 on a 1-10 scale, so better get it fixed, huh?

It's hell getting old...

dang, sure hate to hear this .... been there with my left knee .... while having it replaced hasn't totally eliminated all of the associated issues, the lack of always present pain makes the surgery worth it

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

HA! I'm thinking more LegoLand than Six-Million-Dollar-Man!

Not getting ahead of myself, though! Let's see what the Sports-Doc has to say!

The thing about surgeons, though: they LOVE to perform surgeries!

The surgeon I saw about my knees recommended o wait until I was less active. Said the knee joints would last longer. I get a cortisone shot in each knee every 3 months. The pain and swelling go away for 2 to 2 1/2 months.
Sorry to hear you are going to miss some of hunting season. I can't climb in and out of a ladder stand either. I started using a ground blind last season.

Sounds a lot like my own diagnosis, but not to worry; the surgery only took about an hour and was uneventful. It was pretty amazing, actually. While it takes time to fully heal internally, the benefit is immediately evident and virtually painless. I was given a prescription for a narcotic pain reliever that I filled on my way home but never needed to take. Good luck.
