Minor Suggestion

Post by steelersfan97 » Thu Apr 28, 2016 1:24 pm

Many websites now have a small logo that appears on the browser tab and also appears when searching the favorites list.

Perhaps an H on an orange background could be created.

It's called a favicon and to add one to our forum is a great suggestion!

I'll see if this software will allow one.

I'm not familiar with what they are. Can someone post a link to a site that uses them?

Dave,

I believe what they are referring to is that little "avatar" or "logo" that is in front of the site's name on your favorites list. Right now this site has just a generic one that the particular browser you are using for your favorites list will have.

It's a cute little thing, lol.

Ok, thanks to CT_Shooter, I now know what a favicon is.

I will ask Sir Henry and DanatHenry for something. Don't hold your breath as I have to tinker with the inner workings and I need to find out how to install it. I read a tutorial and it seems straight forward, but I don't like to open the hood and work on the engine while it's running. It killed the site before and temporarily paralyzed it once after. At least we are all backed up.

Stay tuned, but don't hold your breath, you may resemble a smurf before I get a favicon installed. Now that I know what they are, I would like it too. A really nice one.

Off the top of my head, what about an orange capital H as suggested by steelersfan97?

Since its so small something simple is better. The orange H seems perfect.
