There is a fine outdoor RR museum in Union, Il. West of Chicago , about 50 miles , on US. 20. Right next to a Western Town and museum. Nice double feature. Our biker group would go there every year as one of our members was a volunteer there. Got to ride in the engine cab on the one working train they had. Way cool!!!

I too have a fondness for the Chicago and Northwestern. 4 generations of my family worked on the C&NW. My father was born in the living quarters of a C&NW depot.

We are at that museum at least 3 to 4 times a year. It's growing, with a new edition being a small town.

What era is the small town. Might have to check it out as we are going to be in the Dekalb area (hopefully) in two weeks.
