Where is Hummingbird?

Post by PT7 » Sun Aug 11, 2019 2:38 pm

He is actually pretty easy to see, unlike trying to find Waldo!

I was walking passed my kitchen sliding door when I saw this little guy enjoying a Sunday lunch. Surprised how long he stayed as I ran to the bedroom closet to get my camera. I was able to get four photos of him, all in flight, while enjoying his meal.

Sure was a fun visit for me; glad he stopped by. And I know he left with a contented tummy! :D

Great pics, they seem to love the Lantana.

We've got a couple, the other day I was out on the deck by the grill, and one came up to the feeder that was only five feet away.
He was there for a couple minutes.
Not as many as we usually have this year, though.

Great photos and such a wonderful assembly of potted, flowering plants, PT7. But, your photos are of a "she". Males sport a ruby colored bib about their throats. :) I'm sure you'll see her mate with his red flag, too. I love these little creatures and have several nesting and flitting about my yard.

My wife loves to watch them She has like 3 or 4 feeders out for them. We have one or two that pay us a visit now and then.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

We have a couple feeders and flowers on our deck too. Frequently get buzzed and hover fly bys when sitting out there.

When up at our cabin, I have actually held a feeder in my hand and they were right in front of my face! Pretty amazing!

Amazing is right, Mark. When they are that close, especially just above your head, they sound just like the light saber in Star Wars! Humming.... They do not fear people at all.
