Trailcam Recommendations?

Post by Mags » Tue Feb 05, 2019 11:27 pm

Spent a good part of today reading reviews and shopping for a Trail Camera. After a while my brain got full and I backed away from the effort for the day. Anyway I'm wondering which ones our members here have and what they think about them?

A co-worker of mine has about four and they all work well and it seems he spent much less on Them than what seems to be average.
I'll ask him about them tomorrow.

I use Browning Recons. You can find them on sale fairly often. I like the ones that have 10MPS or more. They give you the most detail. They hold up well unless you have them down in the river bottom during a 100yr flood x2 in the last 4 years. Not mud proof.
Good luck in your quest.

x 2 on the Browning - we have one and it has always been reliable. Used it to find out what was raiding the horse grain in the barn a couple of years back.

I have two "Spy Point" ..."Force 10" models that work very well. Were about $100.00 apiece. I use them up at our cabin. New pics every afternoon when I check them. Mostly bear and deer, but also turkeys and smaller critters as well, day and night.

This is brain full discouraging. After reading several web reviews was starting to seriously consider either the Spypoint Force 11D or the Browning Strikeforce Pro. However after reading reviews from people who purchased I'm on hold. Several purchasers noted that the Spypoint Force 11D doesn't take pictures well at night - blurry. For the Browning Strikeforce Pro some purchasers say the camera case/gasket is too flimsy and doesn't hold up over time - starts leaking letting rain in.

For now I've stopped pursuing getting a trail camera. End user reviews, discouraging.

Advise on Game Cams

Last year mine finally gave up the ghost. :D
Should have already replaced them and had 'em put out, but
I haven't.

So I am looking for suggestions on what you all like and use. Thanks.
