KCMO 2018 "white-out blizzard"
KCMO 2018 "white-out blizzard"
Most of my neighbors would say I'm nuts, but I do enjoy snow & cold. Of course, being retired and not having to drive to the office does help quite a lot.
Anyway, before the sun melts the piled-up snow away, some photos from PT7's apartment windows. These show the homestead and breakfast table of the sparrows.

We don’t have snow in the city but the mountains passes are getting dumped on.

It wasn't quite as pretty shoveling it off of my driveway, front walkway, porch and patio this morning, but it was good exercise! Nice pics of a pretty rare occurrence here in KC for this early in the season.
And, by the way, when did they start naming winter storms like this, as if it were a hurricane? Wasn't/isn't this "Bruce"?

Re: KCMO 2018 "white-out blizzard"
Yup, the comments made show that winter & snow depend on what a person thinks or feels about the winter season -- or any season. I've experienced, as many of you have, various winter locations over the years.
When I moved to/from OR, those mountain passes were a real bear to get through. In northern IL and southern WI, I bumped into "THOSE snowstorms." Nothing compared to the snow depth RR has, but plenty deep to keep us home. The 66-67 winter Chicago blizzard that shut down the entire city and all airports: 2 feet in 24 hours. When living in WI, one of the several snowstorms over the years settled in 26" blocking my garage door and driveway -- excluding any wind drifts.
That is why it was easy to post my few photos from this last weekend's blizzard in KCMO. Comparatively, it was a "light" blizzard to others I've experienced. I thought the "clinging snow" surrounding the sparrows' home was quite beautiful. I'm simply glad that winters do not upset my apple cart too greatly.
On the other hand, a hot, blistering, drought-plagued summer like we had this year in MO, is completely another story...
Take care, Everyone.
