thanks for the pictures .... they could just as easily have been taken on most of the North Carolina Coast .... we often talked of retiring to the NC coast, even bought property down there .... today the reality is, that ain't gonna happen

Curious about what the poles were/are for? Long gone pier or something else?

Not sure. I would have said they were for keeping cars off the beach - but there are tire tracks through the center.

It may be a way to divide one hotel from another.

Except for the west coast of Florida, I don't think there are many ocean sunsets along the Gulf Coast.

SunRISE we get, but sunset is a Florida California thing.
Cane across a fellow feeding animal crackers to the guls. Those darn things will eat anything.
