Re: Photo testing
Some members are having difficulty posting photographs. They are coming out poorly, like two out of three above. The two distorted photos simply don't have enough data in them to be made large enough. They were all taken from Henry's site. Please use files that have enough data in them to show up properly here. I have the settings very generously set so that you can post 30 mega pixel photos and more. Those are the ones that load slower and then seem to shrink. They are very high resolution. The above blurred images are just the opposite. They have very small resolution because they were never meant to be large.
I hope this helps.

Re: Photo testing
Do you prefer that we upload photos to the site? I got in the habit of posting links to my photos on Flickr since some forums don't have such generous upload settings. My linked photos seem to show up fine.

Re: Photo testing
I copied your photo and increased the size of both the pixels and the data. Your original photo was 43.6 K, with 750x247 pixels at 72 PPI. I modified it to 1457x480 and 552 K data size.tx gunrunner wrote:My pic load up terrible on this forum . Just like the ones daytime Dave .. Here it is: Edit: if you place your cursor on this or any other distorted image and right click, you can select to open it in a new window or a new tab and see it in its proper aspect ratio.

Very interesting results, all shot with same camera Nikon 35mm Coolpix) and no re-sizing done to any of these five photos:
The 2018 photos are distorted.
The 2013 photos are NOT
Go figure.

The portrait photo retains its proper aspect ratio; the landscape photo is distorted.PT7 wrote:Testing-Testing
Beautiful carbine. Congratulations, and don't forget to add it to the "How Many?" thread.

Re: Photo testing
Bob, are you viewing the forum in the maximum width setting in the user control panel. All your pictures look ok to me.

Re: Photo testing
I do have that setting turned on, but they still look distorted to me --- using Chrome.daytime dave wrote:Bob, are you viewing the forum in the maximum width setting in the user control panel. All your pictures look ok to me.

Re: Photo testing
I changed the "maximum width setting" to see if that helped the distorted photos I sometimes see and now most photos show up as links that I have to open to see. Changed it back and I'm still seeing mostly links instead of photos. My photos show in the posts and the photos in the most recent post in this thread by PT7 show in the post. I did check the setting in the control panel to show photos and it is set OK.
Any suggestions? Would sure like to get it back the way it was, even with the occasional distorted photo.

Re: Photo testing
Logged in with Firefox instead of Chrome and still having the same issue. Photos that I have posted and for some reason the photos in the above post by PT7 show up in the post. All others that I have checked show up as links. The links do work.dave77 wrote:I changed the "maximum width setting" to see if that helped the distorted photos I sometimes see and now most photos show up as links that I have to open to see. I am also seeing links and some photos. All your testing is now links but we're photos before.

Re: Photo testing
That's what happens when I go into the "back room". I hit the wrong button and everything went to links. It should be back to normal now.
