Closeups of stainless steel

This sub-forum says "Amateur and Professional." Just to keep the record straight, photos below are taken by a sure amateur.

I'm always challenged using my Nikon CoolPix S3300 whenever taking closeups, especially of stainless steel firearms. Light reflection and blurriness are the primary challenges. Since I had little to do this evening, I decided to "practice" and take some photos of my stainless steel Vaquero. I took 19 photos, but only 10 turned out fairly well. The deleted 9 were all blurry; almost got dizzy reviewing them!

So nothing special here but just some late-evening fun with revolver closeups.
Hope you find some interesting to view, or maybe even a little entertaining! ;)

Looking good Sir, the gun is a beauty but those grips alone would have sold it to me.

PT7, you should be the cinematographer for a spaghetti western.

Imaging this image at 100' x 75' on an Imax as the hero is cocking his gun....... :D

Les & RSb -- Thanks for noticing those grips. After setting my eyes on them in the LGS gun case, It was really easy to grip the "Dooley Gang" grips! Yup, they did help me decide on getting the Vaquero.

I had not heard that name before, so did a little bit of web hunting. Came across the history/story on this web page http://www.badlandsbar3.com/dooleygang.htm of how the "Dooley Gang" started, and what the name is about. It's part of SASS competition and folk getting together just for fun & camaraderie.

Henry, quite an imagination putting that Vaquero with cocked hammer on an Imax....sure would be a sight!

RR, you got that right! That's why I did the practice photos. The reason 9 out of 19 shots failed was either because of the light reflecting off the "shiny," or blurriness from being too close. You should see this revolver posing in direct sunlight....get the shades out! 8-)

Very enjoyable post, PT. Some great pics. Makes me want to grab my SA revolver and head to the range to play cowgirl. It's been a loooooooong winter.
