I have the horses on 40 minutes of grass every night right now. So far so good...

Just got home, long day working cattle. I am whupped. Rode Dakota today, from 7am until 3pm. Gathered all morning and branded in the afternoon. Real old timey branding, out in the big wide open, no corrals, couple of riders to rodear (hold) the herd and we ride in, rope the calves by two hind legs and drag 'em to the fire. Brand, needle, ear tag and they are good to go with mama back out to the open pasture. Roped a bunch, Dakota worked great. Not a half bad day's work for an old guy (me). Here's some pics. Saw lots of country today.

Quality of the pics not so great as I had to reduce them to send them to the home PC.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Lucky 13...they were left alone during the big branding as they were still too little. The herd in the pics is mixed; bigger branded/tagged ones and some of the smaller babies.
