Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Re: Cow Country
We had a real nice morning together. After brushing him I have enough hair to knit another Badger. Shedding the last of the winter coat.

Re: Cow Country
What's your water outlook for the Summer? You had posted earlier about the your lack of snow. We weren't looking too good here until our record Feb. snowfall. Average for Feb. down at the city elevation is 2 inches, we got 22 inches.

Not good here. We did not get a big snowy winter. We have had some rain but need lots more.

Hey All,
This is a great thread. Wonderful images beautiful country. There are a lot of things I could comment on but the very first and most obvious to me is as I read through 54 pages not once did I see the words porcupine hills. To someone like me who lived and worked in Alberta for 9 years that stood out.
I did not get to spend a lot of time in the porcupines or up highway 3 as most of my research on range management (livestock grazing management) issues were in the Cypress Hills, foothills roughly Sundre to Cochrane (for SLS timber company) or in the aspen parkland however I did get down there for some tours (cows and fish IIRC and others) and such. Have been on parts of the waldron. Highway 22 is a beautiful drive - did it often Vegreville to Oregon for holidays. Highway 41 is another favorite.
Do keep the thread going as there are other things I would touch on.

Re: Cow Country
Funny you mention that. I think I included a pic or two on the Waldron but did not mention the Porcupines. I have rode them a few times over the years. We live about 20 minutes west of them by road.

Re: Cow Country
Badger and I just got home this afternoon and my wife snapped this pic. We had a great day, just beat the rain/snow back I think, there's some dark clouds rolling in.
