Out in the hills early this morning, Badger and me doing some stragglin' (looking for cattle missed in gather). Gorgeous day, chilly in morning. Badger sweating up a bit as the temp got into the 50's. He's wearing his woolies now too.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

He is actually pointing toward home. Like a compass.

3rd day out looking for strays, not much left out there now. Rode all morning and came up empty. Beautiful day in cow country. 55F and sunshine. Saw a couple of black bears and some big grizzly tracks. Tracked him for a spell to watch (or smell) for any cow carcass but nothing today. Horse will always alert to the smell of something dead. They don't like it. I wasn't going to push my luck and run into a big griz looking to fatten up for winter. Spent most of my time in open areas today. Rode from just before sunup to almost noon. Good 'ol Badger was solid as usual. Since this is a Henry rifle forum, I am holding my cool Henry in the pic. :) ...with both Badger and me getting older, I do try to document our adventures. Like they said in Monte Walsh; "Nobody gets to be a cowboy forever."

.
Vintage photos are a nice way to document your adventures. Looks like you got photo bombed by a jet contrail in that last one (above your right shoulder).

As I write this, at almost 9:30 PM it's 76 degrees.

Not that it's a bad thing, as I'm fed up with the heat, but I could not imagine living there and I'm sure RR probably feels the same way about the tropics.
