Been sitting here trying to remember how to insert a quote. But Mags, we don't have open season all year, but it runs from Sept. to Mar. / 8 a day. (Officially) Being on my own land, I shoot them when I need to. Haven't got serious yet with it still being so hot and buggy, but been waylaying 1-2 a day between the pecan trees and woods.

Top line to the right of topic, click on ( " ). It's right next to the ♥️ symbol. Then just begin typing underneath the quoted text that appears below.

Likewise, shoot them when the population of them gets too high or a particular squirrel is a nuisance. Right now the squirrels are raiding the near by filbert orchards, so not so many around the house.

Acorns are falling. I'll start moving around more. It's usually middle to end of October before it's cool enough to sit still for any length of time. I did switch from mossy turkey to rossi turkey. The mossy is still wanting to be hard to feed shells. Got to check it out.

They started harvesting filberts yesterday afternoon. Squirrels will be back soon.

I used to wonder how many squirrels, I'd put down and lamely lamented I hadn't keep count. One day I realized I'd kept all the .410 casings in case I needed to reload them someday. Looked at the stash of .410 casings to maybe count them and decided to pass. Too many casings to count in a reasonable amount of time.

These are just the ones around yard and pecan trees. I haven't actually hunted in the woods yet. They seem to be liking my A/C unit for some reason, and I can't figure out why. Probably close to half them hulls are from them leaving the A/C unit.
