Biggest set of sheds I've found

Post by Ozarkwoodswalker » Fri Jan 31, 2020 6:57 pm

My son and I walk a lot of miles looking for shed antlers this time of year as a hobby. But I found these while fixing fence. A lot the biggest I've ever found. Scored out as a 170 class deer. Seldom see such racks like that here in South Missouri. I'm excited to have found them. No one hunting this fall ever managed to lay eyes on this deer though they got a couple trail cam pictures early in fall. He must be good at laying low....

Nice, I have never found a pair.
Lol, my dog a couple years ago found a whole skull.
He and I and the oldest grandson were out just killing time.

Beautiful pieces. It sounds like you might have been happily surprised to find them, since you were just out working the fence and not looking for them. That's pretty cool. Thanks for sharing the photo with us. Let us know how you plan to display them.

Ya know it occurred to me....(I use shed antlers hunting as an example cause it's a hobby of mine)..... But it occurred to me as I plodded along in the woods on a pretty winter day ...that for all of us...... Somewhere ahead on the trail lies the last shed we will ever pick up ...never know if that's twenty steps down the path or a hundred thousand steps, but either way, somewhere .....there it lays ...the last one ....
So , we need to appreciate and enjoy each one and as many of the steps along the path as we can .....

Absolutely, actually the last one I found was purely accidental as I was just out checking fences.
We were about to move some cows into a new pasture.
Was trudging through a thick section of brush and there it was.

Just like any kind of hunting, one never knows when he has killed his last game .

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Another picture my son took of me holding them . It must have been an impressive buck to see back in early November

I have never found a pair, either but know some farmers that found sheds with a tractor tire - NOT GOOD!
