Re: Hunting success pics: Post what you got!
I sold my Ruger .44 Carbine to Roddy on here. I only sold it to finance/make room for my Henry BBSC .357 mag. I would have liked to keep both, but they would fill the exact same roll for me, and I will/do shoot the .357 more than I would have done with the Ruger.
I have been out twice for whitetail, but passed on a doe the first trip (she has a yearling in tow) and the second trip I spent some time in one of my stands with a fresh rub right at the end of the shooting lane (50 yds), but the buck never showed while I was there. I showed the spot to one of my friends, so if he bags something from my stand, I’ll at least get a steak or three out of it. I’ll get out again on the Thanksgiving weekend but looking for coastal blacktail which can be very very hard to hunt.

Re: Hunting success pics: Post what you got!
Crazy crazy story ...no deer seen all season....got disgusted and came home early...looked out dining room window and see a little runt doe crossing the yard. She comes by every day or two and eats under an old Bradford pear just over the south yard fence. I ignore her cause she is a pure runt. But today she had a partner. A big buck! And rats my hunting rifle is still outside in the car! So I rush to gun cabinet, fumble about and get it unlocked. I grab a Ruger 270 and reach into the piled mess I have in the bottom, pull out two boxes of ammo, and head to dining room. I have No glasses on, but when I get where I can see, I realize I have nothing in my hand but 308 bullets ,....so a scramble back to gun cabinet to pull out the 308 Savage 99 featherweight I have ....I jam in two bullets..open the dining room door and with both me and the rifle inside the dining room I shoot the buck. He goes maybe 15 yards and crashed into a heap...dead as a hammer. As eight points go, he's the best I have shot...while I know there are hundreds and hundreds of bigger racks harvested in Missouri this year...I'm willing to bet in the catagory of bucks shot while the hunter was standing in his dining room...this bad boy has got to be in the top five at least. .going to have him mounted....with a crazy story like that how could I not? I'm tickled.

That’s awesome! I’d sure be happy with that buck if I walked 50 miles of trails to find him!
As a note of possible interest to others, here in B.C. that would be a 3 point. We don’t count the brow tines, and then antler restrictions are based on the side with the most tines over 1” long. He would be what we call a “3x3”. No matter what you call him, he’s a dandy buck, and the story is second to none!
