Call me cynical but I have a really bad time dealing with the Texas "Hog Problem" I hear writers complain about the problem but the ranchers want to charge people hundreds of dollars a day to come on their property and help with their problem.

.
If they hired a pest controller, the ranchers would be paying to have the pests mitigated.

Not the total reason but one of the reasons there out of control. Im not opposed to paying but some of the fees are out of line for shooting them. There abundant in numbers.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Some areas, the farmers are PAYING the hunters and writing off the fees. Those guys you see in the videos shooting at night? $3,000 for the gun, $4,000 for the thermal/IR night sight, $750 for the suppressor. Ammo isn't cheap.

In an interview with a farmer, the reporter asked why the farmer was paying the three hunters night after night, there are certainly those who would shoot them for free.

Several reasons...

These guys are pros, they know where to shoot, and where not to shoot, what to shoot and what not to shoot. A stray round or two? Farm equipment, livestock, it's expensive. People live here too.

They have high quality gear, and rarely miss. When a hundred hogs come into the field, not many leave with this team here.

Before, I spend all day seeding, the hogs destroy acres of work overnight. They stop it. Worth every penny.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
