Look at this happy face

Post by bandit1250 » Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:12 pm

This is a little 10 year old with her first buck. She was really happy getting her buck this year. It made the antler length by about 3/8". Her Dad made a good guess on the length. I set her rifle up for her and loaded her ammo. Her Dad helped get some of the wall back in place the day the car ran into our house. He would not take any money for his help. I told him I would take care of the little girls rifle set up and keep her in ammo for practice and hunting. Her rifle is a Savage Axis youth model in 223 Remington. I loaded her ammo for deer with a Speer 55 gr. bullet and 26 gr. H4895 near max to have a little more punch for deer hunting. I loaded her practice ammo lighter for her to get used to the rifle. She handles it very well. She killed this deer with one shot from a slight angle behind the shoulder. It only went about 10 yds. and went face down into a skid in the leaves. I saw it on the video they made.
She also got a doe with a cross bow earlier in the year. When I was loading her shells she was here and I couldn't hardly work the press handle she was so close to me watching every move. I told her Dad to be watching for a RCBS Rock Chucker for her. She has a great interest in hunting and fishing and the out doors. Here is a very happy little girl and I am glad I was able to help get her started. This kid has unbelievable manners. They are raising their children right.

Good on ya Bandit and great story. For a young lady like that to show that much interest in hunting and fishing is very rare these days.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Outstanding! Good job on exposing them young, so they are educated early and can make their own decisions later in life about their interests and passions. The expression on her face says it all.
