Just a doe but pleased with gun

Post by Ozarkwoodswalker » Fri Nov 30, 2018 7:58 pm

Been a tough year getting to see a deer...this three day antlerless season that comes after our regular gun season was first opportunity. First time I ever hunted with a peep sight instead of a scope. .first time I used a 30 30 too. Was pleased with it hitting where I aimed . And surprised that at 90 yards it blew a big exit hole on other side of deer. A good fun little gun I will use in the brush again!

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

many sources speculate that more deer have been taken with 30-30 than any other .... congrats on yours .... and congrats on hitting what you aimed at .. :D .. clearly no scope was necessary ... ;)

Congrats on your harvest, Ozarkwoodswalker! Glad you enjoyed using the rifle for the first time with such good success.
And especially interesting was your telling of how you and your .30-30 brought home the venison!
Thanks for sharing the hunt with everyone.

Nice doe. Nice Marlin.
Is that a RPP lever and Feather Loading gate you have on your 336?

Congrats on the doe, nice meat.
I have killed more deer with a 30-30 than any other caliber.
But for many, many years it was the only CF rifle I owned.

Now I have way more options than opportunities. :D

By the way nice lookin Marlin.
