Took most of season to get these 2 deer one mature doe and a young 6 point . Both were broadside shots at 120 yards. Both were pass through . Used Sierra 300 gr. Hp and nos. silver tip 300 gr and both with h335 at 64 gr. Thanks JEBar for where to get the blemish bullets they shoot 1/2 inch group @ 100 yds. I love this rifle over all my other rifles. I'm still thinking of getting the AW 45/70 also

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

yep .... Shooter's Pro Shop has an agreement with Nosler to sell their bullets that have cosmetic blemishes in their finish .... the cosmetic blemishes do not have any impact on performance .... I have used the BLEMS extensively in rifle and revolver calibers .... they are priced right and I have no hesitation to hunt with them .... with their current sale, I have 500 45-70 Ballistic Silvertips on order that should be delivered next week ....

OK thanks I'll bookmark that for the future. Do you have an idea how often these go on sale?

Re: Broke in my Henry 45/70 cc this season
they price BLEMS at discounted prices .... once in a while, they appear to have a volume in stock to where they put them on sale at an additional discount .... right now their bags of 50 Nosler 45-70 Caliber 300 Grain CT Ballistic Silver Tip with Cannelure (BLEM) are $12.95 (about 26 cents a bullet) ===> http://www.shootersproshop.com/nosler-p ... -50ct.html .... Cabala's sells bulk boxes of lead 45-70 gr bullets for about 28 cents each ====> http://www.cabelas.com/product/shooting ... s?slotId=2 .... regular prices can be about 3-times higher ===> https://www.natchezss.com/nosler-ballis ... 50-ct.html .... Nosler has very high standards for quality and I have no doubt they make every effort to not have any BLEMS .... the bullets stocked by Shooter's Pro Shop will vary with what is available .... hence, coupled with a $13 flat shipping rate I try to really stock up when I can .... they also have OVER RUNS of first quality bullets ....
