Did you apply?

Post by Dennis H » Mon Apr 17, 2017 12:04 am

Big game application season is well underway with a state or two already posting results. I only apply in my home state as that's all my time allows these days. I put in for nearly everything the state offers sheep, goat, moose, elk ,deer, antelope, bear. Bull moose is a once in a lifetime (oil) tag and has a random flare to the drawing as do sheep and goat. I was lucky enough to tag along with a friend of mine who drew his bull moose tag last season.

I have 16 or so preference points for those three species knowing I may never draw any of them. I generally draw a buck and bull elk tag and then if I want, with a little luck, most years I can pick up antlerless tags for these two as well. Buck antelope is about an every 5yr tag where I apply. So let's hear what species and states you applied for.

The bull on the left is the bull my buddy took last fall.

Dennis, what state do you live in?

Here in KY, the only drawings we have are for elk. I put in for it every year, haven't been drawn yet.

Yes, I've seen some of the pics. Would love to put one on the wall and in the freezer.

Yup, without hunting, fishing and gardening we would not eat. Applied for 3 gun tags for deer and I will buy 2 or 3 archery deer tags and one archery turkey tag when that time comes.
