A lot of it has to do with the range that you will be taking shots while hunting. If 100 yards and under, 2-3" is sufficient. But at 200 yards, that becomes a 4-6" group, and you're getting onto shaky ground. I reload for all my rifles, and I like to find the sweet spot. If I can't take a given load and consistently group 1" or better, I'll find another load. The way I look at it, the more accurate I can make my load/rifle combination, the more room for error I have on the human factor. Hunting is a combination of rifle, ammo, and the dummy behind the scope. Improve one, and you improve them all.
