Ha ha ha. That deer on the Cabela's site looks like he's tucked in for bed. I'll probably get the LL Bean one. Thanks for the tip.

When I started in 1964 I could grab one by the horns or the hind feet. As the years went by I went from the one that you can put around your waist to a full harness. Now, the only way it is getting out of the woods is if one of the guys loads it on the four wheeler!

Kinda late on this one but being a senior myself thought I'd show you what I've been using for about ten years now. I picked up the sled at a Duhnams store and it slides well on grass, snow and dirt, just added a thicker rope as the one that came wit it broke right away. This year I want to get a little deeper one that they make so I can throw my stuff in it so not to be caring the extras.

many years ago when we hunted an area where we couldn't use motorized vehicles to go into the woods, we tried different deer drags .... all helped but none made the job much less taxing .... after trying the drags we moved to carts ===> https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywo ... u2mono2n_p .... for us, they worked much better for hauling equipment into the woods and deer out

This past bow season my neighbor who is 76 shot a 11 point 190lb. buck and came over and got me to help drag it out. Well, I just turned 70 so heres two old farts going to drag this monster out, Right! My neighbor just bought one of those carts and we couldn't even get it on the damn cart it was so awkward. Being that there was so much brush and branches it would have been hard to wheel. I went back and got the long sled and the deer barley fit on that thing but we did pull him out to where we had the truck. The sled glided over the brush and branches. The weight of the deer pushed down the small
brush and high grass. I know neither one of us alone could have done it alone though.

That's why I got a saw. And the sled. Guys from out west told me they don't even gut the animal ,just take all the meat off,put it in canvas bags , and bring it out.,and the rack.
They De-bone all the meat, why carry all the bones out
When your just going to throw them away anyhow.
