Biggest doe rack I have ever seen.

I know of two antlered female animals killed in my lifetime - an elk by a friend many years ago and a deer just this year by another guy but in both cases they had just one antler and both were pretty short.

This is the reason hunting regs reference 'antlered' and 'antlerless' animals as they know this can occur and cannot render an animal illegal if one is killed and is the wrong gender - but does - or does not have antlers.

I once killed a deer during an antlerless hunt but it turned out to be a buck with a deformed antler that had grown down along it's head and nothing on the other side. I did the right thing and took it to the game warden and they let me keep it as it was the last day of the season. The Warden did comment if I had brought in a fully, 'typically, antlered animal he would have probably given me an Alpha Charlie and kept it but it was quite obvious it was nearly invisible at the approximate 60 yards I shot it from.

I was really POd that he kept the head as I would have probably had it mounted......

...he kept the head...
Why was it kept? Did a regulation require that action?

I don't know if their was a reg or not. I don't recall asking why at the time.

As Vaquero said he may have wanted it for himself but it was not THAT unique or spectacular.
