SO I am looking for a Big Boy X in either 357 magnum or 45LC. I have loaded ammo and empties for both. Primary use would be here in Eastern PA in the woods which are sometimes a little thick and mx distance is around 80-85yds. Which caliber would you pick. There is also the possbility of coming across a Black Bear as well.

If you're reloading, I'd go 45LC. If you're buying manufactured ammo, the 357 is going to be much cheaper and probably more readily available.

If I were taking a shot at a Black Bear I would much rather have the 45 Colt in hand. Maybe just maybe you may find the 45 colt rifle sooner than the .357 but that’s just speculation on my part. A year ago a local shop had a 45 colt X model on the rack for a long time, of course I was looking for a .357. Now there isn’t an X model anywhere.
