A couple of nice Bucks

Post by daytime dave » Thu Nov 03, 2016 7:13 am

I had seen a discussion with photographs on Blade Forums about the rosewood handled 620 Reaper. I decided to look for one at Walmart last night. Well, I think they had just stocked the sporting goods area for Christmas, because there was lots of everything. I got a Reaper and a 632 Mesa as well. The Mesa is very similar to the 104 knife in the Compadre Series. I really like the Compadre knife.

A shortcoming of the Compadre knife was the sheath. I swiveled on the belt a little too much for me. I like the plastic molded sheath on the Mesa. It holds the knife securely and can be switched from right handed to left handed. I do not like nylon sheaths and may look for a leather sheath for the Reaper. Both knives scales did not match the ends of the knives metal. I wonder why? Certainly not a deal breaker for me, I use the other end anyways. I liked each knife and I'm glad I got them.

That black blade wood handle Reaper is a definite keeper -- and looker!
I'll be at one our wally worlds today and will check out whether they carry any Buck knives.
If they do and there is one of the 620 models there, it will come home with me.
Really like the textured-look to the black blade, and especially the beautiful wood!

How does everyone find these cool deals?!?

Thanks for posting the great photos.

I like the shape of the Compadre, but the grip on the other looks like it woul feel better and not slip.
