Old Red is Back from SAK --- refurb like new.

During the chats in a mid-June knife thread, Mark (markiver54) reminded me that Victorinox/Swiss Army Knives has a lifetime warranty on their knives. I had mentioned that my elder SAK, Old Red, had traveled with me most everywhere for plus 3-1/2 decades. It needed some attention, just like everything does....including us! Mark gave me the contact info and "how2" send my SAK in for refurbishing.
It did take a little while as Mark noted when he sent his knife in, but I wasn't in a hurry. Sent it to Victorinox on August 5th, and got it back today. They did everything I asked, and Old Red is definitely spruced up, sharper and younger looking.
Here are some photos.
New handles replacing the well-worn originals, which had also lost one of the early SAK emblems. That is not available any longer, unless I find a used one somewhere.
All knives and scizzors sharpened, and new scizzors spring installed (original was worn and fell out of base).
Old Red with my newest Flag Super Tinker. My collection is again complete having the oldest and youngest back together!
This is another company that upholds their excellent guarantee, as Henry does. If you own a Henry and a Victorinox/SAK, you can relax in their good Customer Service. Thanks for looking at my "new" Old Red
