I watched a video on how to reduce reflected noise. The guy stacked straw bales immediately around where he was shooting. If I remember right he used about 20 bales and it reduced the noise behind him significantly.

Now that hunting season is close I hear people shooting several times a week and it’s from multiple directions. Since we are spread out you hear it yet it’s not a nuisance. Actually it’s comforting to know someone is having fun.

Interesting. Just this week I have been thinking about building some kind of range sound proofing, because our property is one of the very few in our subdivision of acreages where we can be the required 200 yards away from an inhabited dwelling and so be legal to shoot without the permission of said neighbors.
