Umarex Colt SAA 7.5 inch .177 first shots
This is a sweet gun, I quite like the looks, feel, balance and build quality, I just have to figure out how to hit stuff with it. I have an indoor range, I started at 22 feet from a rest. then I tried to see the sights.... what sights? That tiny chrome vee notch and the tinier chrome front blade? I moved up half way, did a two handed point and shoot and discovered that it likes that. Screw the sights, pardon my language. I have never shot a real basic SAA before, only a New Model Blackhawk .357 Mag 50 years ago.
It appears to be sighted in at spitting distance. It is a .45 Colt replica with .357 Mag insides....:
It also has the weirdest gas valve system I have ever seen... It is operated by a bump on the BOTTOM of the hammer. Pic taken from an airgun forum:
I am also not used to shooting a gun with less than 2 ft lbs energy, I had a couple of ricochets because they would not penetrate the plastic bucket lid of my trap. I think this will be a display/ outdoor beer can plinker kind of toy. You can order yours as a custom here:

Those are fun air guns. Congratulations on yours. I like the longer barrel.

John, that point and shoot (point and pray) kind of shooting was often used with the Colt SAA 45 in the day, so have at it. Interesting gun for sure, though. On a whim, my hubby bought a 177 cal Dan Wesson CO2 replica some time back, though it's not even close to the real thing as far as being an authentic copy. Haven't shot it, yet, but now that summer is getting closer, we'll get out and try it.

John, a little dab of black paint on that front sight will help. That's what I've done on my stainless fixed sight SAs. It helps.
