Re: Major Shift in Shooting
Well main thing is to have a really good backstop for the more powerful air guns that you will move up to....at least 3.5 inch in thickness with treated wood. For my backyard range I built a 10 ft wide x 7 ft tall wall using 4x4 post with 2x8 boards across front and back. The front or target side has replaceable 1x6 treated fence pickets which are cheap to replace as they get shot up by missed hits. A lot of the timber was from a neighbors old deck he had removed.
Might look into a nice Co2 .177 lever rifle like the Walther which would go well with that 6 shooter! I have the Walther Lever Action and it is a great little shooter with 8 shot rotating magazines.

These would be my choices if I was going to do what you are doing Gene.

That's a nice quality one there and I see thumb relief on both sides so maybe for right or left.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 2:18 amI found this little beauty. I think NCG has one of those Gene. She could give you some better info. But I don’t see any reason why you couldn’tSir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 2:18 amI found this little beauty. Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

That’s what I saw too. The only drawback of going group size instead of plinking with CO2 is velocities drop in the cold.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:59 amThat's a nice quality one there and I see thumb relief on both sides so maybe for right or left.Sir Henry wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 2:18 amI found this little beauty. I was looking at that lever but it’s out of stock.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 11:32 pmWell main thing is to have a really good backstop for the more powerful air guns that you will move up to....at least 3.5 inch in thickness with treated wood. Yes, I have the Crosman 2300S and LOVE it. Great gun. It's the best in the entire series of Crosman CO2 target guns. And, yes, the grips are exactly the same on both sides, so you can shoot it with either hand. The other nice thing is that there are aftermarket grips you can buy for these Crosman CO2 target style pistols, since they are so popular.
This S version does have a shroud, too, so it is quieter than many CO2 pistols. Metal receiver, too, so you can mount a scope, no problem. I now shoot with a nice with a 2-7x air rifle scope and shoot it offhand, silhouette style, holding the gun up close to my face.

Re: Major Shift in Shooting
Her's what we have doe for our backstop. At 30 yards, our most powerful air guns only dimple the plywood facing and it's angled, so less of a chance of pellets bouncing back.
The backing is treated 2x6 lumber.
The facing is 3/8th plywood, which we can replace if it ever gets too shot up.
And all set up with metal targets and traps. We normally shoot at 30 yards, but do have the option of going 50 or even more.
