Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
.38 spl loads.
Re: .38 spl loads.
Does anyone load 38 spl for the bb357, the manual says only 158grn bullets is this a length issue or am I missing something. Not a problem I found 4 500 boxes of 158 lead swc I had put up years ago, side note they are old the price on box is $17.95 per 500

Re: .38 spl loads.
I have had exchanges with Henry via internet email. They advise the 158, 38 specials because it is closer to the length of 357 and will feed better.

Re: .38 spl loads.
As stated earlier, I handload a 158gr rnfp coated or uncoated in .38spl brass. 5.0gr Unique. This same bullet/powder combo in .357 brass will feed smoothly in a Henry. But, they both work fine in my rifle. Again, OAL is: 1.450"-1.455". This is a good load in rifle or handgun.

No problems here with .38 Specials in the Henry. I shoot the MB 158 gr. RNFP with 5.5 Power Pistol in both revolver and my Henry BB and sweet and accurate for plinking and target shooting!!

Re: .38 spl loads.
In a revolver, when shooting 38 special there is the "dreaded crud ring" which is not that easy to clean but it doesn't bother me and it is fairly easy to see in a cylinder. How hard is it to see and clean in a big boy?

Not hard at all. A simple cleaning when done shooting the .38's and your good. You can also load .38 rounds in .357 cases and no crud to worry about.
