Loading for my 1858 Remington .45 conversion..

Well while I am waiting delivery of this revolver I was thinking of some mild loads for it at 850 max. FPS as recommended for this
setup. I do have some 250 gr. 45 Colt loaded at 8 to 8.5 of Unique and some factory Winchester 250 gr. Cowboy ammo from some years ago but
wanted to try something else too.
I do have a box of old Speer .45 cal 230 gr. swaged lead bullets # 4691 that have some factory lube on them called Film-Cote and they were most
likely for .45 ACP. Bullet size is .452 with flat base. A friend gave me these about 9 yrs. ago and have kept them on the shelf.

My thinking is these softer lead bullets might make a nice load with 8.0 gr of Unique. The Speer book list a 230 gr. lead Cowboy load
at 7.8 to 8.5 of Unique giving 804-850 FPS out of a 5.5 inch Colt SAA revolver. Mine will be 8 inch.

Same bullet is listed in Speer as a 45 ACP load using a max load of 5.8 Unique at 849 FPS in a 4.4 inch Sig P-220.
