Isn't This Cute!

Post by Mistered » Wed Jan 08, 2020 6:33 pm

The shortest .30 cal bullet I have ever loaded in .30-30 !

93 Grain JSP pulled from some old .30 Luger ammo I had!

About the only shorter bullet might be .310 round balls. I have read about them being loaded in .30-30 with like 3.5 grains of Bullseye for total, no report yard plinking/varmint use.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Pine cone plinkers
Yep - they will send more flying!

I'll put a few on paper to see what they do. Like I mentioned I hope they are not some tackdriver load because if so I will have to do some research to find the bullets if I want to continue loading them.

.30 Luger ammo is still being sold so someone is making the bullets. Hornady has XTPs in 90 grain and I found a Mfg. of lead bullets who has 93 grain.

I'll probably check with a Mfg. of .30 Luger ammo and see where they are getting their 93 grain JSP.

Still waiting.
For a range report?

If so that is going to be a while as the big snow decided to hit over the weekend and I have been dealing with it....
