Did a test of my own today with that load Tom

I adjusted the sights after this initial group but the load is very accurate not only in my rifle but my Ruger Blackhawk. I shot this with iron sights.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

On a sidenote for some reason my CCH 357 has become very difficult to cycle. It cycles very hard and acts like it is binding some where. The bolt is also very hard to remove from the gun. I emailed Henry and Im thinking the gun will need to take a ride to NJ. I hate that this has to be but its just one of those things.

Nice group BIg Al, Love the Blackhawk. What length barrel were you shooting? Watch that front sight !

Reference your Henry, what bullet were you shooting? (Cast, FJG, JHP, flat nose, etc).

Those are those same 180gr Missouri Cast that Tom was using. 11.5 gr 2400. Its a good load. Blackhawk is a 5.5 inch barrel convertible with a 9mm cylinder. Its one of the few blackhawks i have that hasnt need to have the throats cleaned up to shoot casts bullets. Those 358 180s slide right through the throats without a hitch. My Henry is my CCH carbine 16 inch barrel. But Im going to need to send it back to Henry.

Dang Al, don't like hearing that issue with your rifle. Not good. Glad tho you like the 180 load. Lets hope Henry takes care of this. Sure they will.

You know Tim it never did act right from the first time I shot it. I thought maybe a good cleaning and just shooting it might straighten it out. I even disassembled it completely to see if I could determine what might be going on. I never really could find anything. Im hoping that when it goes back its just something Im not seeing.

Hey Tom I kind of rode in on your range report here and probably should have started another one. Sorry for riding along with you. But your targets looked great and those 180's really do shoot very well. There a handful in the pistol but very accurate. Your weather looked a little warmer than mine but great shooting.

Al, nothing to even think about. We all just sort of put our posts where we can. They'll get read and that is all we need. Thanks for the comment as your shooting was right there also. I truly wish I could use my irons, it just isn't going to happen. So, we make do. Tomorrow, back to the bench!
