Re: 30-30 Berry's plated
Actually good catch using H4895.
No, it well between Hodgdons max cast lead load (For a 165 gr bullet) and min 155 gr jacketed load?

Re: 30-30 Berry's plated
that being the case, step the charge up a bit and see if it delivers the speed along with performance you are looking for

Shoot a lot of Berry's in my 357's and 38sp+ and am almost through a 1000 rnd box. I was unaware the rifle rounds could exceed the max 1250 fps of the pistol bullets. Will the rifle loads accept a roll crimp or do you have to use a taper crimp as required for the pistol loads? Thanks for the info.

Re: 30-30 Berry's plated
I use a Lee Factory Crimp.
I've been shooting the Barry's for 357 158's and 125's into the 1400fps+ with no issues.

FWIW Berry's puts a MAX of 1500 FPS on their heavy plated bullets.I want to get 1700 fps.
I looked into this when I was thinking of going to 110 Gr plated for my .30-30 loads.Berry's max recommended velocity is not exceeded. (This info is displayed on bullet boxes and product webpages.)
Standard Plate Bullets Max Velocity: 1,250 fps.
Thick-Plate Bullets (TP) Max Velocity: 1,500 fps.
Might be a consideration before pushing to 1700 FPS.

Ive shot both Berrys and xtreme and pushed them a bit. Never have had any issues to date.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
