Simple Calculting method for part of alloy

Post by BruniX » Sat May 18, 2019 5:28 am

Recently, on you tube, i have found a very interesting video,
a simple méthod to calculate part of lynotype and lead in a alloy,
to obtain a Brinell hardness.

by example,
you want 15 brinell
you have 11 brinell hardness lead and 22 hardness lynotype

1) Put the wanted hardness in the center : 15
2) top left : lead hardness 11
3) bottom left : lynotype hardness 22
4) 11 - 15 = 4 (absolute value) put it on bottom right
5) 22 - 15 = 7 , put it on top right.
end !

you need 4 part of lead and 7 part of lynotype
It's very smart

the video !

PS if needed, i have more sophisticated method (and excel sheet) to calculate how of two alloy to obtain final alloy :D
