You won't save money if you are loading and shooting a couple hundred rounds a month. I bought my progressive press because I was loading five hundred to a thousand rounds a month for practice and competition. That how I started to see a quick return. ;). In addition, with a stressful job, it was nice to sit at the press for a couple hours while the rest of the house was asleep, coffee at my elbow, radio in the background, and crank out the rounds. :D

My very small shop is dedicated primarily to woodworking so I have no place to set up for re-loading.
Not gonna do it in the house either.
Most of you probably shoot a lot more than I do, so I can certainly understand those who do re-load. Personally, I really don't need to do it.
I have probably spent too much on woodworking tools, but they're there when I need them.
Life to me is all about " priorities "
What makes sense for some, may not make sense for others. :)

Cool 220, I can understand that.
Cool similar but different aye.

Even the volume the blokes here put through rifles can be an eye opener. Most seem to run 2 or 3 rifles because one is always shot out and our silly gun laws mean rebarreling isnt a quick or cheap exercise.
Have even heard of some now not even bothering to rebarrel. Cheaper and easier to buy another rifle, drop the barrel action into the stock they have, transfer their existing scope over and recoup a fair percentage of the purchase cost selling the old one for the action price.
Pretty insane when you start thinking about shooting out a rifle in a few months.

Even those I know that do it semi professionally dont reload although most of them reload for their sport shooting. Shooting from sundown to sun up, trying to fit in other work commitments, family, sleep etc. They have to take reloading time into account and it just isnt economical even though they are all set up to do it.

I can reload 9mm for about $5 and some change a 50 round box. I can buy it for $8 a box of 50. Figure a savings of about $2.75 a box. I don't bother loading for it, and I have the dies and equipment. Now .45 ACP is about $6.50 vs $15. I'll do 20 minutes worth of work for nearly $10. Especially when you look at similar savings for .38, and the Pup and I sometimes go through nearly 250 rounds of .45 and .38 in a range session. Thats $30 vs $75 or more, and about 2 hours of work. Not to mention I get better accuracy and softer recoil out of my reloads vs factory.

45 Colt in Canada is 75 cents to a dollar a round factory.
I am roughly at 30 cents reloading and won't need brass for years.
