Bump,

Anyone else loading their Long Ranger in 6.5 Creed? curious how long you can go on Coal before hitting the lands. It differs bullet to bullet, but it would still give me a decent idea about stuff.

You should get a Hornady LnL OAL gauge with a 6.5 Creedmoore modified case.
You'll be able to check the jump or jam of any bullet in you LR.

Really nice group for sure. Im surprised the magazine will give you enough room you can play with the OAL much.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

.
Also if the OAL is too long and the round doesn't fully seat into the chamber, the bolt may seize in place with it partially extended out the back of the receiver. Once seized the action won't cycle and it can take quite a bit of effort to get it unstuck.

The mag length appears to work well all the way up to almost 2.920"

I went out and got a OAL gauge. I've trying to get around not getting it, but I was struggling to measure oal correctly.

I know people use a case the modify themselves and a "smoked" bullet but it takes only a minute to use the gauge tool.
I HAVE THE STRAIGHT AND CURVED.

Looks like my COAL With Hammer Hunter 124 GR bullets is 2.8975" so it looks like my hunting round will be sitting at ~2.87 assuming it retains the above accuracy. I was loading to 2.8500. Upping to 2.900 resulted in ~.5 gr more powder with the same realitive case fill% so I am assuming I will be close to that. Fuzzy math of course

again all theory and I have to redo my workup, but I should be sitting right at 3000 FPS with the Hammer Hunter bullets. Which puts me at 1500 ft/lb of energy at 550 yard
