Heavy bullet in 41 mag
I picked up some 280 WLNGC they came from BTB.
Loaded over 17.5 gr of H 110.
Was 25º yesterday and felt a heck of a lot colder.
Well I did wander down to the barn, that's where I have a little test area.
Well shot stand was blown down and covered in snow.
So I drug some plywood over by a tree, about 40 yds.
Hope this pic thing works, if so the low shot was the first. Adjusted the sight a little.
Not to bad, want to get a little more distance, but that'll have to wait. It's showing promise anyway.
Well it's side ways so the hole at the right is actually the bottom.

Looking good. Would like to know what kind of velocity those are pushing. Bullet overall length? Did they all cycle well?

OAL 1.68", and yes cycled and chambered with no hickups.
I made up a dummy round to start with and checked for cycling and chambering before I startred actually loading.
Thanks for the response, I should have put all that info in here in the beginning.

That's a pretty big chunk of lead for a 41 mag. Looks like you've got a good load in the making. Nice work.

Just curious as to why the heavy bullet? Not meaning to offend, just curious. Thanks.

Ah, well I've had 'em for years, stumbled across them for cheap long ago.
Never really thought about shootin 'em out of the blackhawk.
But once I got the rifle, I just wanted to try 'em out.
Should make for a real deer thump-er.
Now that I've tried them, and it seems to really like it. I'm thinking seriously about having a mold made.
