Never really thought about shootin 'em out of the blackhawk.
But once I got the rifle, I just wanted to try 'em out.
Should make for a real deer thump-er. :o

with a bullet that heavy, I can't help but wonder about trajectory .... at what range do you anticipate zeroing your sights .. :?: .. what distance would you feel comfortable using them for deer hunting .. :?:

Sights set about 75 yds., on it's last outing I was consistently ringing a 6" dinger @ that distance.
So I would feel confident out to there, but do want to shot it farther so it may get scoped.......
at least for a little while.
I feel the round would be very capable out to 125 or so yds.

Haven't messed with it for a while, hopefully the weather will start to cooperate.
I will update once I do.

I know I'm digging up old threads... but this is what I came here to find out.

What is the max OAL that the 41 Mag BBS will feed with a WFN or WLN bullet?

I don't have my rifle in hand yet, just bought it off Gunbroker the other night... trying to figure out which bullets will work...I don't cast, but might try Cast Performance or Beartooth.

If you get above the 1.590 overall saami length in mine it wont cycle. I had a guy from Oregon send me some of his 260 grain bullets to try and they would not cycle as the crimp groove made the oal to long.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I was afraid most 265's might be too long... maybe a 250 WFN might work.

Seems odd though that a 336 clone action (more or less) would be so length restricted...I would have thought it would cycle at least 1.65".

Al, I just made a dummy round with one of those 280's, it was 1.704 and it still cycled right through smooth as butter.
Don't know if it makes a difference, and wouldn't think it would.
Mine is one of the first 250 made.
