"What if" with an Xtreme 240 gr. 44 cal bullet. Take a 240 gr. and fitted into a 7/16ths collet to face off .070 off the nose. End up what with a 225 gr along with a nice .370 flat WFN style bullet that would make a smack! Aimed mostly for 44 Special or mid Magnum level too. Would load at same level as a 240 gr. bullet due to same amount of bearing surface in the bore plus same amount of bullet in case but would be a tic faster than a 240 with same load...like 7 -7.5 Unique for 44 Special. Little bit of rounded shoulder for lever rifle use but still sharp edge and no leading issues.

Looks like you got an Xtreme copper plated bullet there. That copper plating is not very strong. I'm not sure I'd trust the cut-down bullet to stay together as it travels down the barrel. Might wind up with a lead core exiting and part of the copper plating remaining in the barrel. Next shot could produce a surprise -- just food for thought.

That is a good point! I was surprised of the thickness of the plating being thicker than I thought.Headhog wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2024 5:31 pmLooks like you got an Xtreme copper plated bullet there.
