So,has anyone tried shooting the 44 special's out of the Henry big boy? I have a few and so far, they look promising. In fact some of my 245 gr will not feed in the mag. Too long for the action..I'm just curious how others are making out with the special loads. I know about the crud ring etc.. johnny..

I've fired then in our Henry 44 Mag and they were fine .... once they get out to 40 yards I found them to have a considerable drop

Never seen a reason to if I want I can lighten the mags. not that I do much.
Just like the 357, I never wasted much time on those either.
I bought some 41 special brass once, tried them a few times then ended up just giving half of them to a friend to use in a pistol.
As to feeding issues in the 44, I load some 300+ gr cast for my BBB and have never had any trouble.

Re: 44 special in the rifle
I love the 44 special out of my Henry big boy. The 245 gr are too long the feed thru the action in magnum lengths. But they are deadly from the special at 75 yards.which is about the normal woods distance here..just wanted to share that..
