sizing 45-70 bullets

Casting 45-70 bootlits for my Henry. Anyone know what I should size my bullets to?

Take an unsized boolit and put a drop of gun oil and using a brass rod, push that boolit down the bore. Careful measuring the bullet, size .001'' larger. Good Luck!!

I would talk with the mold manufacturer. Ask their customer service about alloys, with or without gas checks, paper patching. Also, have some idea about the intended target. Paper/cardboard at 50 to 100yds or elk at 125 yds would require different loads.

I have heard about a couple of outfits that want you to send then the lead plugs from the barrel. That would be "Great!". . .
