Hi all.
I did get my bb 357 sent into Herny and got it back really fast. I now works great so I am going to start reloading for it. I have been reloading for about 6 years now nut most of that was 9mm, 45 acp. and 223. I got my dies from my son and got them all set up now and started getting a load for them. I am using MB SWC 158 gr with Unique power. I was looking for 4.4gr as I was loading one up I got looking and it is not even 1/2 full. Most of the loading have a lot more powder in them so it looked a little funny. I know I got 4.4gr so that has to be right just looks low. With powder hard to find I am using what I have ( not to much of anything) One powder I see people talk about it HP 38 but can't find any data on that.

Looking in my Alliant load book 4.5g Unique is max load for a .38 special. The Alliant book says max load .357 1.580 oal, 6.8g Unique moves a 158lswc at 1300fps out of a 5.6" bbl, out of a rifle you could probably add 150-200 fps

Thanks JEBaras of now I have not got to shoot it yet but I did load it up with both 38s and 357s the 357 cycled good but some of the 38s It did not like. My son gave me all of his he had about 400 38s and about 100 357s that he reloaded and I have about 50 factory loads that is HP. Right now that is all I have.

Thanks ol'pole. some one told me to keep the speed under 1000 so it will not lead that is why I was going 4.4gr.

If your shooting Missouri cast bullets their hard cast bullets run about 15bhn you can shoot them a lot faster, I use MBC 158g lswc in my 357 at full power 1400 fps no leading in my 4" Security 6

I have run the MB coated bullets into the 1500 zone in .44 Mag thru my Henry Carbine with no leading issues.
For .38 Special I like 5.6 Power Pistol with a 158 gr. MB RNFP bullet.
